Grateful Dead Live Brings You Ongoing Events, Broadcast Programming, and A Look at The Flyers Annual Celebration

As of April 2026, activity connected to the Grateful Dead continues through live events, tribute performances, and dedicated radio programming focused on the band’s catalog and its members.

The Philadelphia Flyers will host their fifth annual Grateful Dead Night on April 14, 2026, during a regular-season game against the Montreal Canadiens at Xfinity Mobile Arena. The event is tied to the band’s history in Philadelphia, where they performed 53 shows at the Spectrum over multiple decades.

As part of the event, a pre-game performance by Splintered Sunlight will take place in the East Food Hall beginning at 5:00 PM. The band has been performing Grateful Dead material for over 25 years and is known for recreating live arrangements and extended improvisation. Doors for ticket package holders open at 4:30 PM to allow access to the pre-game concert and event activities.

Ticket packages for the event include a commemorative T-shirt designed by Wes Knorr of Westernsun Media Design. A portion of each ticket sold through the Grateful Dead Night package will be donated to the Rex Foundation, which was established by members of the band’s extended organization to support community-based initiatives.

In addition to live events, broadcast programming remains an active part of how the band’s music is presented. The Ace Radio Show is a dedicated program centered on Bob Weir and his body of work. The show features live recordings and selections from his solo projects, along with material connected to the Grateful Dead. Its focus is on performance-based recordings rather than studio versions, maintaining consistency with how the band’s music has historically been experienced.

These events and broadcasts reflect how Grateful Dead-related content continues to be scheduled and presented in 2026, with a combination of live performance, tribute acts, and radio programming built around the band’s catalog and its members.
