Dark Star Orchestra
The premier Grateful Dead tribute band has rounded out its 2026 calendar with two newly added shows, while a first-ever full three-set Reckoning-era recreation in Washington, D.C., takes center stage.
Celebrating 45 Years of Reckoning
For the first time, Dark Star Orchestra will recreate a complete three-set show from the Grateful Dead’s legendary 1980 run: an acoustic set followed by two electric sets, just as the Dead played them that year. The run produced Reckoning, the band’s beloved 1981 live acoustic album, and the night marks its 45th anniversary.
As DSO tradition goes, the specific show being recreated won’t be revealed until the night itself.
100% of proceeds benefit the Rex Foundation, the charitable arm founded in 1983 by Grateful Dead members and friends. Rex has awarded more than $10 million to over 1,400 small, often-overlooked nonprofits. DSO has played a dozen Rex benefits since 2002, and an online “Positive Legacy” silent auction for Rex launches in early November.
