John Mayer will perform live at Sphere in 2027, a residency built around what the venue does best, immersive sound, large-scale visual design, and physical sensory feedback layered into every show. Each night is set up as a complete evening of Mayer’s music delivered in three distinct forms: a solo set, a full band set, and a set from the John Mayer Trio, giving the run a range that a single-format show couldn’t cover.

The 300-Year Plan
With both Phil Lesh and Bob Weir now gone, the work of preserving this catalog has shifted formally into the hands of the people they left it to.
Following the loss of co-founder Phil Lesh in October 2024 and Bob Weir this past January, the Weir and Lesh estates have turned their full attention to archiving and long-term sustainability. The two families are coordinating on multimedia preservation plans built on a timeline measured in centuries rather than years, an explicit effort to make sure the Grateful Dead songbook is still accessible to listeners who won’t be born for generations.
That coordination is playing out alongside the band’s approach to a 60th anniversary. Official channels are building out the milestone with the ongoing 30 Days of Dead rollout, the Good Ol’ Grateful Deadcast documentary podcast, and a newly launched Jam of the Week series pulling remastered soundboards from the archive, including a recently featured March 21, 1990 show from Hamilton, Ontario.

JRAD Turns a Cancellation Into a Free Show
Joe Russo’s Almost Dead was forced to cancel the first night of a highly anticipated two-night run at New York’s Pier 17 on Friday, September 25, when a severe nor’easter moved through the city. Rather than let the night go quiet, the band set up right outside the box office and played anyway, a free, unannounced 90-minute set for the fans who’d shown up regardless of the weather. The run included a run through “Scarlet Begonias” into “Silvio,” “Shakedown Street,” and a closing “Help on the Way” into “Slipknot!” into “Franklin’s Tower.” JRAD picks its regular tour back up October 1 in Madison, Wisconsin.

Grahame Lesh & Friends Announce Fall Tour
Carrying his father’s tradition forward, Grahame Lesh has announced a full headlining run for fall 2026. The tour opens with a three-night Halloween weekend stretch across Massachusetts, hitting Boston and Nantucket, before the band heads west in mid-November for a three-night stand at the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever.
