Island Dawn
A brand-new improvisational quartet makes its worldwide debut with a two-night New Year’s benefit on Kauaʻi. Every ticket helps the Garden Island recover from Hurricane Lowell.
Deadheads, Meet Cheeseheads
Island Dawn pairs drummer Jay Lane, Bob Weir’s drummer of choice for three decades, with three core members of The String Cheese Incident. That means two drummers, keys and a multi-instrumentalist out front, built for long, open-ended dance jams.
Jay Lane
A longtime Weir drummer through RatDog, Furthur and Wolf Bros, Lane also held down the kit with Dead & Company and Primus.
Michael Travis
SCI’s percussion engine, who also explores live electronic improvisation with EOTO.
Michael Kang
The melodic wildcard, switching from mandolin to electric violin to guitar mid-jam.
Kyle Hollingsworth
SCI’s keyboardist and bandleader of his own group, bringing organ, piano and synth color to the mix.
Two Nights on the North Shore
“No 2 nights will be alike, and Kauaʻi is the only place to experience it!” Tickets and benefit packages are on sale now. With Deadheads and Cheeseheads both in the mix, don’t wait.
Get TicketsMusic for Recovery
Proceeds support Kauaʻi’s ongoing recovery from Hurricane Lowell. A portion of ticket sales also goes to KKCR Kauaʻi Community Radio, which kept residents informed when power and communications went down.
Fare Thee Well
After Jerry Garcia’s death in 1995, the members of the Grateful Dead never stopped playing. They formed RatDog, Phil Lesh & Friends, The Other Ones, The Dead, Furthur, the Rhythm Devils, Dead & Company and more. Fare Thee Well celebrates that music every Thursday night, tracing how each band carried the spirit of the Dead forward in its own direction.
